The Pelican & Platypus Pool and Wet Area Chairs, designed and manufactured in Australia by Para Mobility, are lightweight, rustproof, self-propelled wheel chairs designed to be fully immersed in salt, chlorinated or fresh water.

The “Platypus” model is used for on ground and ramps while the “Pelican” model includes a strengthening frame and lifting straps to be used in conjunction with Pelican Pool Hoist.

They are lightweight and made from quality furniture grade PVC, which will not absorb the heat if left out in the sun, thus preventing accidental burns, while the strong open weave fabric allows passage of air and water.

The chairs have solid tyres which never go flat and are ideal for leisure centres, hydrotherapy pools, showering and outdoor environments. The Pelican and Platypus Pool and Wet Area Chair has been designed for comfort, safety and practicality, and are easily and safely self-propelled. The wheels are also equipped with brakes on each side for added safety.

The Pelican Pool and Wet Area Chair has added strengthening frames and lifting straps, making it suitable for lifting on our Pelican Pool and Spa Hoist for ease of entry and exit from pools.
